We are excited to announce that we have received funding for 4 summer student positions, if you know of a student that is interested,  please pass this information along.

 

What are the eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program?

The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.

International students are not eligible participants.

 

The Jobs are:

Virtual Activity Student

Administrative Student

Accounting Student

Special Events Student

 

Starting Date:

Monday, June 19th

End Date:

Friday, August 11th

Hours:

Monday to Friday – 35 Hours per week ( occasional evenings/ weekends for events)

Rate of Pay:

$15.50 per hour

Summer Student Job Description 

Title: Technical Indexer - File Management 

Earliest Starting Date: May 15, 2023 

Hours: 30 hours per week for 8 weeks (flexible days and hours) 

Salary: $15.50 / hour 

Duties

• To convert pdf index files to excel format for use in a Master Index. 

• To review the Essex County Branch of Ontario Ancestors website for broken links. 

• To scan and index documents from the Essex County Branch library collection. 

Requirements

 • 15-30 years old and a current student

 • Use of a home computer with internet access 

• Experience using Excel • Ability and discipline to work on your own 

• A Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant Preferences 

• High school graduate with some post-secondary education 

• preference will be given to a qualified Indigenous, Black or other racialized youth.
